This single family residence sits a top hill in the scenic residential neighborhood of Chestnut HIll. Conceived as a balanced transition between colonial and contemporary architectural design, this project integrates building elements with natural site assets and carefully tunes today’s modern lifestyle. We took a super modern approach to the colonial style of the previous building, adding to the traditional New England elements, large and modern glass windows. The large windows brighten the entire residence with ample daylighting, bringing nature and the woodsy surroundings indoors. The sleek kitchen with custom cabinetry unifies the space by ‘hiding’ the appliances and creates a more harmonious look. Modern light fixtures catch the natural sunlight during the day, and evenly lights up the resident in the evening.
